A Message from the Coordinator

Dear PPNW Families & Friends:

Welcome to the Point Pleasant Neighborhood Watch Program. We are now heading into our second year of operations and boy have we accomplished a lot of good things for our community! We are over 1600 families strong and with 330 streets participating in the PPNW crime watch we are getting the word out on crime watch alerts, crime prevention and good health awareness.

Our goal remains committed to getting as many families as possible into the PPNW as we partner with our Police Department and Governing Body to improve public safety here in Point Pleasant. We hope you will join us!

2010 will bring new ideas, new educational formats and expansion of our commitment to National Night Out in August and Voices for Recovery programs. We will also offer our second scholarship award this year to a graduating senior of Point Pleasant High School, engage our street captains as we distribute our printed version of “Community Eyes”, bring new speakers to talk to Boro families and kids on gang violence, domestic and dating relationship violence, drug and alcohol awareness and so much more.

Join one of our subcommittees to help with community litter clean ups, Earth Day & Summerfest booths, fundraising, and our new program called “Lite It Up!”

As we explore new grant opportunities we hope to begin a new component of PPNW called “Safe Zones” within the 15 districts here in the Boro. Learn more about this model and the overall National Sheriff’s Associations Neighborhood Watch plan as we build the PPNW and create new memories!

Best wishes to everyone for a very happy, health and prosperous 2010. Thank you for your support and commitment to public safety.

Sincerely,

Susan Rogers
Program Founder & Coordinator
