About the Program

Across the nation crime, vandalism and public safety is of one of the highest concerns to citizens and Point Pleasant is certainly no exception to those concerns.  Pt. Pleasant Borough residents, the governing body and law enforcement realize that they cannot  eradicate crime working separately.  Residents, Businesses and other concerned citizens working cooperatively with Mayor & Council and our Police Department can have a positive effect in preventing crime in our town.

Through a well organized community based program our Neighborhood Watch can make a difference in advancing public safety, supporting police efforts and stopping crime.  Statistics show that when a concerned citizenry does it part, the possibilities are endless.  Neighborhood Watch is now the most successful anticrime initiative in the country and the most effective and the least expensive tool for restoring the safe, pleasant environment we all want for our families.  This is  true “homeowners insurance” that works!

The Neighborhood Watch is a resident-based program.  It can only work if the residents actively participate!  The Mayor and Council along with the Borough Police Department look forward to actively working with its residents to prevent crime and encourage secure and safe living in the Borough.  Today we start our “Quality of Life Unit” with Borough “Resident’s on Duty.”
